Balholm Bilutleige AS, Sjøtunsvegen 2, Balestrand, org. no. 921053568 MVA, operates a rental service where businesses and consumers can rent equipment for common use by ordering it online and picking up or returning it at a local store, kiosk, or via home delivery. The service also includes a membership option that offers benefits to those who need equipment more frequently.

1 General

These terms apply to the rental and sale of goods and services from www.leigebil.no to businesses and consumers. Together with your order, these terms constitute the full contractual basis for the purchase.

2 Definition of the parties

The lessor or seller is: Balholm Bilutleige AS, hereinafter referred to as we, us, the lessor, or Balholm Bilutleige.
The lessee is: The person listed as the lessee or buyer in the order, hereinafter referred to as the lessee, the customer, you, your, or yours.
“Rental objects” means tools, equipment, machines, and all other items rented out on leigebil.no.
“Delivery method/service points” means delivery or return at a store, kiosk, or via home delivery.

3 Payment, deposit, and prices

Payment is made online by Visa or Mastercard through our payment provider DIBS, which complies with the strictest security requirements. The lessee pays when placing the order, at which point the rental agreement is considered binding.
Balholm Bilutleige AS follows standard rental practice and also reserves a deposit amount as specified on the order receipt. The reservation ensures coverage if the customer returns the equipment late, fails to refill/recharge the vehicle, damages the equipment, or fails to return it altogether. The size of the deposit depends on the rented equipment and is shown on your order confirmation. Balholm Bilutleige AS has the right to use the deposit to cover rent as well as other costs as mentioned above and/or possible claims, cf. section 5 below.
All prices include VAT unless otherwise specified. The total cost of the purchase will be displayed before ordering and will include all expenses associated with the rental or purchase. If there have been significant pricing errors on the website due to Balholm Bilutleige AS, the company may unilaterally change, delete, or reject orders even after the customer has received an order confirmation or similar. Such errors must be corrected, and the customer must be informed within a reasonable time after discovery.

4 Condition of the rental object

Balholm Bilutleige undertakes to deliver rental objects of high quality in operational condition. The company has routines for inspecting and maintaining equipment before and after each rental.
You are responsible during the rental period for all damages or losses to the equipment. Exemption from liability may occur if the damage or loss is due to technical faults or defects. The lessee is therefore required to inspect the rental object before use and contact Balholm Bilutleige AS if it is not in the expected condition.

5 Damages

All damages, technical faults, or accidents that occur during the rental period must be reported to Balholm Bilutleige AS immediately. We will then do our best to assist the lessee. Damages must be reported to contact@leigebil.noimmediately. This also applies in the event of theft.
If the damage arises from misuse, intent, or negligence, Balholm Bilutleige AS may use the reserved deposit and, if necessary, charge additional outstanding amounts to cover repair, service, or replacement costs. Balholm Bilutleige will charge a fee of 18.000,- NOK in liability for damages on the vehicle. This also applies if the equipment is returned in neglected condition or excessively dirty.
We always strive to provide the best advice and tips for using the rental object but are not responsible for performance or for direct or indirect damages or losses caused by the use of the rental object, delays, or faults in the rental object.

6 Use of the rental object

Use of the rental objects is at your own risk. The user must be over 18 years old.
The lessee is responsible for ensuring that the equipment and accessories are used in a way that prevents damage or unreasonable soiling. Proper and safe use of the equipment is the responsibility of the lessee. The lessor facilitates correct use by providing manuals, instructions, and safety procedures with the tools and/or on the lessor’s website. It is the customer’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the lessor’s instructions and safety routines before use.
We recommend the use of protective equipment. You must also follow the equipment’s manual and any other instructions from Balholm Bilutleige AS.

7 Accessories

Accessories must generally be purchased or rented separately when ordering equipment and are selected according to the task the lessee wishes to perform on the website. The website also specifies what is included in the delivery of the rental object. In addition, safety equipment is required in certain situations and is offered on the website. Accessories that are personal (e.g., dust masks) or consumables (e.g., saw blades) are not rented out. For accessories that are sold and not used, section 12 Right of Withdrawal applies.

8 Lessee’s rights and obligations

The lessee must be at least 18 years old and must provide correct customer details when creating a user account to rent on leigebil.no. Balholm Bilutleige AS sends messages to the provided email, address, and phone number, and such messages are considered received and valid upon dispatch.
The user account is personal. If you suspect that others have access to your account, you must notify Balholm Bilutleige AS immediately. The company reserves the right to refuse, terminate, or suspend a user account without notice or liability, including in cases of breach of these terms.
These rental terms must be accepted before placing an order on the website.
The lessee must return the rental object before the agreed date and time expire, and via the agreed delivery method. The lessee is expected to be aware of the normal opening hours of the service point.
The lessee or cardholder authorizes Balholm Bilutleige AS to issue credit card transactions for rental objects that are not returned, are excessively dirty, or damaged. This authorization also allows the company to charge the payment card for additional rent/compensation if the rental object is returned late or with faults/damages.
Delays of more than one (1) hour beyond the agreed rental time entitle the lessor to charge one additional day’s rent plus a surcharge, currently NOK 300, to cover additional expenses. If the rental object is not returned after one day, Balholm Bilutleige AS is entitled to claim the agreed daily rental price for as long as the equipment is in the lessee’s possession.

9 Order changes

To change an order, Balholm Bilutleige AS must be contacted. Changes are not valid until confirmed in writing. This ensures that the rental objects are actually available. Unless otherwise agreed, the rental object must be returned at the agreed time. Extensions may be made before or during the rental period by adjusting the rental start or end date.
Changes and cancellations of rental items must be reported to Balholm Bilutleige AS no later than 72 hours before the rental period begins. If these canges affect the availability of rental objects for other users, we may incur a change fee to cover rebooking costs. The change fee is currently NOK 300. All costs will be communicated to the lessee before order confirmation or modification.

10 Delivery and return

Delivery and return occur as specified on the order confirmation, also available under “My Page.” We are responsible for the products until they are taken over by you, meaning when you have them in your possession. To collect the rental object, you must have your booking reference. The name on the reservation must match the name on your ID card at pickup.
If delivery of the rental objects is delayed, we will notify you as soon as we know, along with information about when delivery can take place, or if the product(s) are out of stock/unavailable.
You are responsible for the product until it has been returned to us or our service points.
We inspect the condition and functionality of rental objects and ensure all parts are present upon return. If the object is returned complete and in proper condition, the deposit reservation will be released.
Vehicles are normally delivered with a full fuel tank or at least 75% battery. If returned with less fuel/charge than at delivery, the lessee will be charged for the actual refill at Balholm Bilutleige AS’s current price per liter/kWh. An additional fee of NOK 750 for fuel vehicles or NOK 300 for electric vehicles may also be charged.

11 Membership

Membership entitles you to price reductions and other benefits. Both individuals and businesses may become members, but the person registered is the legally responsible party.
Membership renews automatically until cancelled by the lessee. Cancellation is done via the account page by stopping the subscription. Membership runs until the current period ends, after which it terminates.

12 Right of withdrawal for purchases

The Right of Withdrawal Act gives you the right to cancel purchases. This applies to goods purchased, not to rental objects. You must notify us no later than 14 days after receiving the delivery (see https://lovdata.no/dokument/NL/lov/2014-06-20-27).
To use the right of withdrawal, the product must be returned in approximately the same condition and quantity as received. If you test, use, or examine the product in a way beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, properties, and function, and this reduces its value, we may deduct an amount equivalent to the reduction from the refund. For example, if you try a dust mask, cut with a saw blade, or drill with a bit, the right of withdrawal does not apply.
Products must be returned in original packaging within a reasonable time, along with the withdrawal form. The easiest way is to return it in the same box as when you return the rental object – this incurs no cost to you. Fill in the form and include it in the box. If you choose to send it by post or other means, it is your responsibility until it arrives. You must arrange appropriate packaging yourself and contact us before shipping.

13 Intellectual property rights

The content and service are protected by copyright law. Images on the site are used with permission from rights holders. YouTube videos are links to third-party services outside the control of Balholm Bilutleige AS.

14 Privacy

Balholm Bilutleige AS processes your personal data in a secure database to fulfill obligations and safeguard rights under the rental agreement. The personal data processed includes name, address, phone number, email address, and order history. This history will remain stored for accounting and legal purposes. All stored information is available under “My Account.” The lessee has the right to have personal data removed from the lessor’s systems by contacting Balholm Bilutleige AS directly.
Your payment card will be stored as long as you have an active order. Card storage is handled by our payment provider DIBS, who stores the information securely. Storing cards makes future purchases easier. You may delete stored cards on your account page. Balholm Bilutleige AS does not store credit card details itself.
Like most online stores, Balholm Bilutleige AS uses cookies. Cookies store data in your browser so that the website recognizes you across pages and visits. This allows us to provide correct prices and easier login. We also collect usage information to improve service quality.

15 Governing law

These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Norwegian law. The agreed legal venue is Oslo District Court.

16 Changes

Balholm Bilutleige AS reserves the right to change or replace these terms at any time. Current terms are always available at leigebil.no. If Balholm Bilutleige AS considers the changes significant to the lessee’s rights or obligations, the changes will be published on leigebil.no 30 days before they take effect.
By using the service after the changes have been made available, you agree to be bound by the updated terms. If you do not wish to accept the new terms, you cannot use Balholm Bilutleige AS.
